Adam D. Long, 50, Superior, passed away on Wednesday, July 8,2015 at his home, following a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family.
He was born on July 31, 1964 in Seattle, WA.
He graduated from Superior High School in 1982. He went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force.
Adam married Dawn Moe on January 10, 2009 in Superior.
He was employed as a truck driver for Lake States Lumber.
He was a member of “PIGS” Motorcycle Charity Group, a member of ABATE, he was a stock car driver for many years and he was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.
Adam loved horses and was involved in Douglas County 4-H for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife Dawn, Adam is survived by two daughters, Heather (Alan Venable) Long, Apple Valley, CA, Petrice (Roger Babb) Long, Eau Claire, WI; four sons, Anthony (Alexa) Dominguez, Zachary Dominguez, Nicholas Long and Brahden Long, all of Superior; his dad, Kenneth (Peggy) Kephart, Hines, MN; one sister, Bonnie Vigness, Bemidji, MN; three stepbrothers, Kelly (Julie) Juelson, Patrick (Kelli) Juelson and Danny (Jessica) Juelson, and their children, all of Hines, MN; two granddaughters, Ann Marie and Jazmin; four special aunts, Priscilla (Ken) Jezorski, Beverly Wilkenson, Ramona (Chuck) Nordquist, Joy Schlias and their families; Adam’s uncles Sherman (Lynn) Turcotte, Jim Turcotte, William (Trish) Turcotte and Dan (Carol) Turcotte two nieces, two nephews, several cousins and his many family members in the state of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Billy Jo Kephart; his father and his brother, David Long and an uncle Richard Turcotte.
A Time of Remembrance and Celebration of Life will be from 11:00 to 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 11, 2015 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home with a Memorial Service at 1:00 PM.
The Patriot Guard will be present at Adam’s Memorial service.
Burial will be on July 31, 2015 at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
Honorary pallbearers for the service will be his brothers of the PIGS Charity Motorcycle Group.
Adam’s family would like to thank the staff at St. Luke’s Hospital, floor 2 West, for the wonderful care that Adam received.
