Aileen Gadda, 94, Superior resident, died October 9, 2010 at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center in Superior.
She was born in Maple, Wisconsin on December 27, 1915 to Hemminkki and Majya (Ammesmaki) Winkka.
She attended Maple Corner School. She was a Seamstress, Waitress and Homemaker thru out her lifetime.
She was a member of the Lakewood Lady ELKs of Lakewood, California and the Moose Club in Long Beach, California.
She enjoyed bowling, cooking, baking, traveling on bus trips and dancing.
She always called her grandchildren and great-grandchildren “Little Poopsies”.
Aileen is survived by one daughter, Caroleen Drain, Superior; three granddaughters, Kimberly Drain, Lakeside; LeAnn Drain, South Range; and Karen (Justin) Hansen, Minneapolis, Minnesota; two sisters, Irene Brazill and Elvie Agacki both of Amnicon; one brother, Rueben (Bonnie) Winkka, Park Rapids, Minnesota; four great-grandchildren, Selina, Amber, Tristan, Gregory and was expecting her fifth great-grandchild Baby Hansen; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Helge Gadda; six sisters, Helen Johnson, Senja Keller, Elsie Johnson, Lillian Frank, Mae Schuler and
infant sister Aili; three brothers, Matt, Oscar, Eino Winkka.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM, Thursday 14, 2010 at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 East 5th St, Superior and continue until the 11:00 AM Funeral Service with Pastor Patrick Ziems of Zion Lutheran Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
Pallbearers for the service will be Steve Anderson, Jason Birch, Justin Hansen, John Johnson, Roger Johnson and John Agacki.
Aileen’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be recognized as Honorary Pallbearers.
