Aimee D. Jondreau, 92, longtime Superior resident, passed away on Thursday, September 03, 2015 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN.
She was born on July 15, 1923 in Victor, Iowa to Robert and Sarah (Beckman) McClenathan.
Aimee attended Holy Assumption Catholic Church, was previously active with the Douglas County 4-H and was well known for her baking of bread and sweet rolls.
She was a seamstress and made clothes for her children when they were small and also made wedding dresses for her daughters and granddaughters and other clothes for family members. She also knitted many dish rags over the years.
Aimee received her first driver’s license when she was 60 years old.
She is survived by three daughters, Aimee (James) Sweeney, Superior, Beth (Richard) Fuller, Cloverland, WI and Florida, Janet (Alvin) Ericksen, Port Wing, WI; three sons, Louis P. (Jean) Jondreau, Florida, William F. (Kay Lynn) Jondreau, Birchwood, WI and James P. (Dave Pfuhl) Jondreau, Superior, WI; 19 grandchildren, Marvin (Lori) Johnson, Raymond Sweeney, Michael Jondreau, Susan Melius, Pamela Jondreau, Michelle (Tom) Kimmes, Greg (Corinne) Ericksen, Lawrence Ericksen, Dan (Sarah) Ericksen, Jim (Amanda) Fuller, Shelly Fuller, Julie (Chris) Germano, Christina (Del) Reece, Steven (Liz) Jondreau, Ryan (Liz) Jondreau, Hayden Jondreau, Autumn Jondreau, Kate (Devin) Elmore and Allan O’Leary; 35 great-grandchildren; one brother, Leonhard (Sally) Scheiderlein.
She was preceded in death by her husband Louis on January 22, 1988, her parents, one sister, three brothers, and a special friend, Willie Soderlund.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM and will continue until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Holy Assumption Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Ronald Olson, as celebrant.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Aimee’s grandchildren will be recognized as pallbearers.
