Alice M. Burm

Alice M. Burm, 81, longtime Superior area resident, died Friday, November 12, 2010 at Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center, Superior.

She was born in Ashland, Wisconsin on April 6, 1929, the daughter of William and Marie (Desonia) Innes.

Alice married Donald Burm on February 18, 1950 in Ashland, Wisconsin and recently celebrated sixty years of marriage.

She enjoyed playing golf and loved gardening.

Alice was employed by the Superior School District as a teacher’s assistant for twenty years before retiring in 2006.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Superior.

She is survived by her husband Donald Burm, Sr., Superior; two daughters, Mary Jo (John) Manion, Superior; and Sue (Dan) Gigliotti, Superior; three sons, Donald Burm, Jr., Superior; Jack (Linda) Burm, Stevens Point, WI; and Bill (Tracey) Burm, Superior; thirteen grandchildren, Tim, Mike, Rob, Brian, and Sean Manion; Joe and Katie Gigliotti; Matt and Ryan Burm; Jocelyn Barnwell, Nicole Pollard; Jeff and Taylor Burm; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother, Art Innes, Ashland, WI; and several nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by two sons, David and Timmy Burm; one grandson, Tony Gigliotti and her parents, William and Marie Innes.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Superior and continue until the 11:00 AM, Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Father James Tobolski as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Superior.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Special Olympics.
