A lice Lahti, 80, Maple, WI resident, died Monday, June 4, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospice in Duluth, MN. She was born on February 7, 1938 in Superior, WI.
Alice was a member of the Finnish Apostolic Lutheran Church in Maple, WI. She enjoyed meeting with her Breakfast Club every Thursday for the last 30 years and her Tuesday lunches with the “Bad Girls”. She loved spending time with her family and friends and especially her grandchildren. She was a self taught musician of several instruments and will be remembered for her wit and pancakes.
Alice is survived by one daughter, Gayann (Rick) Sandoval, Maple, WI; one son, Gordon (Betty) Lahti, Palm Desert, CA; eight grandchildren, Nicole (Kevin) Frey, Skokie, IL, Richard Sandoval, Mesa, AZ, Robert Sandoval, Crystal Lake, IL, Jonathan Lahti, Concord, CA, Alyssa Lahti, Concord, CA Jeremiah (Aimee) Glonek, Lake Nebagamon, WI, Joshua (Dana) Glonek, Ft. Belvoir, VA and Sarah (Chris Scribner) Glonek, Detroit, MI and several great-grandchildren and special friend Ernie Saari. She was preceded in death by her husband John Lahti.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5 th Street and continue until the 12:00 PM memorial service with Pastor John Knierim officiating.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made in Alice’s name to the Old Brule Heritage Society or the Douglas County Humane Society.
