Alice "Ollie" Sandberg

Alice L. “Ollie” (Gustafson) Sandberg, 91, formerly of East End Superior and Lake Nebagamon, currently of Superior, died Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at the Lighthouse of Superior, surrounded by her family.

She was born on June 24, 1922 in Minneapolis, MN to William and Anna (Nelson) Whitney and had lived in the Superior area most of her life.

Alice was employed at Superior Water Light and Power and J.C. Penney.

She was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Nebagamon and currently a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Superior.

She is survived by her husband Howard; three sons, David Gustafson, Aguanga, CA, Robert (Kim) Gustafson, Superior, Bill (Debbie) Gustafson, Hawthorne, WI; two daughters, Kathleen Gustafson, Milwaukee, WI, Donna (Mike) Rivett, Menomonee Falls, WI; five grandchildren, Kevin (Patsy) Gustafson, Hawthorne, WI, Tammy Remington, Milwaukee, WI, Valerie (Mike Russell) Gustafson, Twin Cities, Joseph Gustafson, Superior, Jonathan (Ashley) Gustafson, South Range, WI; seven great-grandchildren, Courtney, Austin, Carson, Ethan, Jordan, Boyd and Connor and two sisters, Mary Gullo, Superior, Betty Hill, Mesa, AZ.

Alice was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur R. Gustafson and her parents.

Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM until the 5:00 PM Memorial Service on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Sarah Kerkes, officiating.

Inurnment will be at a later date.
