Allene J. Shaul

Allene J. Shaul, 88, lifelong resident of Superior, passed away November 17, 2017 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital, Duluth, Minnesota. She was born January 9, 1929 in Superior, the daughter of Alfred G. and Ruth (Zimmerman) Flatten.

She was employed as a CNA for Chaffey Nursing Home and as a Home Health Care worker for many years. She was also a member of the Ladie’s Auxiliary to the VFW for over 20 years.

She loved Bowling at Landmark Lanes in Leagues. Allene loved to cook, bake, play Bingo, and was an avid fan of Elvis. Allene loved the Price is Right and even travelled to California with her granddaughter Melisa to see Bob Barker.

Allene and her husband Ed owned the Kro Bar in Superior in the early 1970’s and she enjoyed going to see Ed and his sister Eleanor Kvisler play in their band for dances.

Allene loved spending time with her grandkids and she loved her cats.

She is survived by and will be sorely missed by her two sons, Michael Shaul, South Range, WI and Gregory (Sandy) Shaul, South Range, WI; eleven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Anderson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward I. Shaul in 2002; her parents; one brother, Al Flatten; two daughters, Beverly Craven and Colleen Pleau and one son, Patrick Shaul.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Superior and continue until the 11:00 AM, Funeral Service with Pastor Michelle Rowell, officiating.

Pallbearers for the service will be Allene’s grandsons, Patrick Shaul and Gregory Shaul Jr., and her great-grandsons, De’Shon Pleau, and Trevor Rygg.

Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Superior.

Allene’s family would like to thank Twin Ports Health Services, and Essentia Health’s CICU, 6W and 9W Palliative Care for the special care they gave to Allene.
