Alvin G. Brand

Alvin G. Brand, 83, of Foxboro, WI, formerly of Duluth, MN, died Tuesday, June 16, 2020 in his home. He was born on October 16, 1936 in Duluth, MN to Alvin S. and Mary (George) Brand.

He graduated from Morgan Park High School. He served his country in the United States Navy for ten years. Alvin was the Chief Engineer for the USS Great Lakes Fleet for many years and more recently worked at Wal-Mart. He married Dolores “Lori” Nindorf on March 4, 1961 and recently celebrated fifty-nine years of marriage.

Alvin like to hunt, fish, golf, watch sports especially the Minnesota Vikings, berry picking, camping and playing cards. He was a member of Darrow Road Wesleyan Church.

Alvin is survived by his wife, Dolores “Lori”; daughter, Tina Brand, Foxboro, WI and son, Alvin E. (Annie) Brand, Spring Lake Park, MN; three grandchildren, Cynthia (Tim Pierce) Tyson, Two Harbors, MN, Anthony Tyson and Tiffany (Tyler Thompson) Tyson, both of Superior, WI; five great-grandchildren, Gunnar Tyson, Willow Mattson, Hunter Larsen-Tyson, Lillian and Aaron Schuelke; two sisters, Gloria (Ron) Sandine and Marilyn (Tom) Novotny, both of South Dakota; two brothers, Robert (Mary) Brand, Wascott, WI and Michael (Gwen) Brand, Superior, WI; brother-in-law, Ronald Nindorf, Foxboro, WI; sister-in-law, Barbara (James) Moyer, Wentworth, WI and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother David Brand and mother and father-in-law, Audrey and Earl Nindorf.

Visitation will begin 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Darrow Road Wesleyan Church and continue until the 11:00 AM memorial service with Pastor Mark Holmes officiating. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Alvin E. Brand, Anthony Tyson, Tyler Thompson, Tim Pierce, Ronald Nindorf, Al Chesky, Jeremy Schuelke, William “Billy” Brand, Michael “Mickey” Brand and Raymond “Ray” Nindorf.
