Alvin Carl Morin, 92, longtime area resident, died Wednesday, November 22, 2017 in Duluth, MN. He was born April 2, 1925 in Brooks, MN, the son of Alvin A. and Sarah E. (Stoeck) Morin.
He graduated from high school and the Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, OK.
Alvin served his country honorably in the United States Navy during World War II and the United States Air Force during the Koran Conflict.
He was employed with United Airlines as an Aircraft Mechanic for over thirty years until his retirement. After retirement from United Airlines, Alvin volunteered for over twelve years at the Strategic Air Command Museum in Ashland, NE, restoring WWII aircraft. Many of which are currently on display in aviation museums in the midwest.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed cooking. He baked a “wonderful loaf of bread”.
Alvin was a lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion in Baudette, MN.
He is survived by one daughter, Cindy (Jose) Rodriguez, Superior.
Alvin is preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
As per Alvin’s request, no public services will be held.
Burial will be in the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
