Amy Theisen, 45, Wrenshall, Minnesota, passed away Friday, September 23, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Duluth, MN surrounded by her family.
She was born in Superior, Wisconsin on February 1, 1971, the daughter of Jerry and Joanne (Berglund) Nykanen.
Amy graduated from Bethel College in St. Paul, MN with a B.A. Nursing Degree.
She was employed by Bay Shore Nursing Home in Duluth, MN as Registered Nurse.
Amy married Ken Theisen on December 9, 2005 and recently had celebrated eleven years of marriage.
She loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing and was known by the pigs as a “pig whisperer”.
Amy was a caring nurse; a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend.
She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Amy is survived by her husband, Ken Theisen, Wrenshall, MN; two sons, Nykolas Nykanen and Alexander Nykanen, both of Wrenshall, MN; her parents, Jerry and Joanne Nykanen, Poplar, WI; one sister, Beth (Jeff) Flatten, Mahtomedi, MN; two brothers, Jonathan (Deborah) Nykanen, Eden Prairie, MN and Jesse (Melissa) Nykanen, Santa Monica, California; many nieces and nephews and a special friend Tricia Mattson.
Private family burial will take place at a later date.
The Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 East 5th Street, Superior, is
