Angela Kay “Angie” Zeug, 90, longtime Superior resident, died Friday, April 10, 2015 at Villa-Marina Health & Rehabilitation Center in Superior. She was born at home in the Clark county village of Willard, on March 15, 1925, the daughter of John and Mary (Karnicar) Snedic.
Angie considered herself fortunate to not only graduate from high school, but also attended the Eau Claire Teacher’s College, where she met a young World War II fighter pilot named John Zeug. After graduating with a teaching degree in 1947, John and Angie were married in Eau Claire.
Angie taught school in Athens, Wisconsin and also was a substitute teacher in Superior. She was also an active member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and for many years and in many ways, worked to keep the parish vibrant.
Angie had fond memories of growing up on a farm and never saw a barn she didn’t like. This led to her love of gardening, berry picking and the wonders of nature always pausing to admire everything from a flock of geese to a wild flower. A life long learner, she was also a giver by nature, taking time to help those in need. Her love for John, her children and grandchildren, cannot be understated.
Angie is survived by one son, David (Wanda) Zeug, Shell Lake, WI; one daughter, Margee Brown, Shoreview, MN; grandchildren, Angela and Michael Brown, Nicole (Stephen Walker) and Kyle Zeug; one sister, Josie (Bill) Valenzuela, Rochester, MN.
Her husband John in 2002, her parents and siblings John, Paul, Mary and Annie, preceded Angie in death.
A special thanks to the staff at Stardusk House and Villa Marina for the wonderful care they gave to Angie. It will not be forgotten.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and will continue until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Rev. James Tobolski as celebrant.
