Anne M. Dumonsau

Anne M. Dumonsau, 96, Superior resident, died on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Superior, WI. She was born on July 11, 1920 in Hurley, WI to Stanley and Helen (Sieraski) Sturgul.

Anne graduated from Cathedral High School in 1939.

She married Richard A. Dumonsau on August 7, 1948 and they celebrated sixty years of marriage before his passing in February of 2009.

She was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Church and Altar Society as well as the Belgium Ladies Auxiliary Club. She was a homemaker and enjoyed traveling, camping, dancing and spending time with her family and friends. She also was an avid cribbage player.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard A., son Richard E., her parents, three sisters, one brother and special friend Jackie Kmecik.

Anne is survived by two sons, David (Mary) Dumonsau, Madison Heights, VA and Gregg Dumonseau, Las Vegas, NV; three grandsons, Kent (Sarah Leuck) Dumonseau, Lake Nebagamon, WI, Nathan (Emily Syria) Dumonseau, Duluth, MN and Joseph Dumonsau, Madison Heights, VA; one granddaughter, Libby (C. J. Goodwald) Dumonseau, Minneapolis, MN; two great-granddaughters, Emma Dumonseau, Superior, WI and Avery Dumonseau, Duluth, MN; one great-grandson, Luke Dumonseau, Superior, WI; three nephews, Frank (Bobbie) Dumonsau, Superior, WI, Robbie Dumonsau, Bayside, NY and Michael Tench, Seattle, WA; two nieces, Lee Ann (Jack) Nottenberg and Julie (Michael) Unulock, Superior, WI; one sister, Wanda Sturgul, Milwaukee, WI and special friends, Russell and Dorothy Heytens and Pat Collins, all of Superior, WI.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, Friday, February 10, 2017 in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2316 East Fifth Street, Superior, WI and will continue until the 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Superior.
