Arlene H. Jacobson

Arlene H. Jacobson, 88, longtime Superior resident, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Franciscan Health Center in Duluth, MN. She was born in Superior on June 15, 1935, the daughter of Louis and Gladys (Martinson) Hanson.

She graduated from the former Central High School in Superior, in the class of 1953. She then obtained her nursing degree from St. Luke’s School of Nursing.

Arlene was united in marriage to Richard Jacobson on June 16, 1962. They celebrated fifty-three wonderful years together before his passing in 2015.

Arlene was a lifelong and active member of Concordia Lutheran Church. She was president of the Altar Guild and served in various capacities at the church. She loved the outdoors and working in her gardens. Dancing was a favorite pastime and she belonged to many area dance clubs over the years. Rosemaling-Scandinavian decorative folk painting was an art form she loved creating.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, and sister, and will be dearly missed by her children, Jill (Jim McGinnis) Jacobson and Craig (Lindsey) Jacobson; sister Linda (Dennis) Aho; brother-in-law Ronald (Trudy) Jacobson; and nephews Doug Jacobson and Eric Jacobson.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard.

Visitation will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 4, 2024, at Concordia Lutheran Church, 1708 John Avenue in Superior, and will continue until the Funeral Service at 12:00 PM with Pastor Sean Koos officiating.
