Arlene L. Senn

Arlene L. Senn, 83, longtime Superior resident, died Monday, September 28, 2009 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Superior.

She was born on January 30, 1926 in Superior, WI to Victor E. and Mable (Christiansen) Bergren.

Arlene was employed as a Dietary Aid for St. Mary’s Hospital for nineteen years retiring in 1979.
She was a member of The Salvation Army and the Silver Stars and a member of the Ladies Home League. She enjoyed baking and listening to gospel music.

Arlene is survived by three daughters, Donna (Thomas) Kilgore, Cheryl , and Joan Senn, all of Superior, WI; four sons, Richard (Kathryn), Superior, WI, Roger (Cecilia), Grand Rapids, MI, Terry, Brainerd, MN and Tim (Nancy) Senn, Superior, WI; ten grandchildren, Stacy (Jason) Seboe, Wesley (Lindsey) Kilgore, Sarah (George) Blackman, Joseph (Stephanie), Meredith, Rachel, Melissa, Zachary, Caleb (Stephanie) and Donna Marie Senn; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jeanine (Bob) Vince, Port Huron, MI and Anita (Dale) Westerback, Bloomer, WI; and sister-in-law, Jeanne Downs and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 1999, two sisters, Delores Henry and Marion Szybinski, her parents, two sons, Donald Jr. and Gary Senn and an infant daughter.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 3, 2009 in the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior and continue until the 12:00 PM Memorial Service with Captain Caleb Senn of The Salvation Army officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Superior.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to caretakers, Sue and Lori for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Fund, 916 Hughitt Avenue, Superior.
