Arne S. Franzen, 82, Superior, WI resident, died on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Superior Rehab & Nursing Center in Superior, WI. He was born on August 20, 1934 in St. Paul, MN to Otto and Hilma (Nielsen) Franzen.
Arne served his country in the United States Army. He was employed as a carman for the Burlington Northern Railroad for forty-three years.
Arne married Arlene Pananen on July 17, 1987 and they celebrated twenty-nine years of marriage. He was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church and the Labor Union with the railroad.
Arne is survived by his wife, Arlene; one brother, Everett Franzen, St. Paul, MN; three sisters-in-law, Delores Pananen, Superior, WI, Donna (Roger) Pearson, Superior, WI and Linda (Lowell) Schultz, Marshfield, WI; five brothers-in-law, Erland (Loretta) Pananen, North Pole, AK, Cliff (Jackie) Pananen, Salcha, AK, James (Dorothy) Pananen, Rochester, MN, Albert Pananen, Superior, WI and Donald Pananen, Lantana, FL and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Elsie Bransville, brothers Carl, Ebor and Donald Franzen.
Per Arne’s wishes, no public services will be held.
