Arnold E. Flagstad

Arnold E. Flagstad, 90, lifelong Superior resident, died Friday, November 9, 2018 at Villa Marina in Superior. He was born October 9, 1928 in Superior, WI to Louis and Mildred (Anderson) Flagstad.

Arnold graduated from Central High School in Superior and went on to work for Burlington Northern Railroad as a carman. He married Marilyn Anderson on August 19, 1950 and celebrated 58 years together before her passing in 2007.

Arnold was a member of Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church in Superior. He was also a member of the Superior Optimist Club and served as a local chairman for the Carman’s Union.   He was previously employed by Superior Motor and Custom Auto Body. He was also a consultant for Hunegs LeNeave & Kvas Law Firm.

Arnold is survived by his lovely daughter, Anne-Marie (Michael) Walker, Kingwood, TX; son, David (Kathleen) Flagstad, Stirling, NJ; grandchildren, Paul, Laura, Heather, Kyle & Taylor; great-grandchildren, Autumn, Axel, Audrey and Emily; special nephews, Gary (Judy) and Dean Genovese, all of Superior; and several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marilyn; and son, Michael.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 12, 2018 at Cathedral of Christ the King, 1111 Belknap Street, Superior, and will continue until the 11:00 a.m. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.
