Audrey E. Hagen

Audrey E. Hagen, 91, Superior resident, died Monday, August 1, 2016 at Villa Marine Health and Rehabilitation Center in Superior. She was born on December 8, 1924 in Mayville, ND to Dr. Otto T. and Martha E. (Thompson) Olson.

She graduated from Oak Grove Lutheran School, Fairview Hospital School of Nursing receiving her RN degree and attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. Audrey worked at many hospitals around the country and retired as a RN from Superior Memorial Hospital in 1988.

She married Arnold Hagen on June 3, 1949 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN and they celebrated forty-six years of marriage before his passing in January 1996.

Audrey was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and Lydia Circle and was a past member of the Sons of Norway. She also was a talented rosemaler.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Carolyn Strutrud, Blanche Kellerman and Thoretta “Teddy” Olson.

Audrey is survived by her children, Rebecca “Becky” (Gary) Hagen Jokela, Superior, WI, Charles (Gretchen Hamel) Hagen, Bloomington, MN, Suzanne (Roger) Hagen LePage and Ron Hagen, both of Superior, WI, two granddaughters, Audra LePage and Sophia Hagen; two sisters, Merlyn Hvidston, Moorhead, MN and Rachel Johnson, Richfield, MN and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Friday, August 5, 2016 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street, Superior with a scripture service scheduled for 6:30 PM with Pastor Will Mowchan of Pilgrim Lutheran Church officiating.

Visitation will resume at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Concordia Lutheran Church, 1708 John Avenue, Superior and continue until the 11:00 AM funeral service with Pastor Victor St. George officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Superior.
