Austin Lee Schiff-Sislo, 18, of Lakeville, MN passed away April 21, 2020. Austin was born in Duluth, MN on December 16, 2001. He is preceded in death alongside his brother Logan Bernard Sislo, Grandfather Roy Schiff, Bernard Sislo and Uncle Richard Schiff. He is survived by his parents Rochelle and Lyman Sislo, Ted (Christy) Ruth, siblings Lyman Jr-8, Levi-6, Annabelle-5 and Loella-4; Grandparents Margaret (Peggy) Sislo, Renee Granlund, Roger (Penny) Loukes; Uncles Robert (Karen) Sislo, Bernard (Beau) Sislo, Charles Sislo, Jim (Erin) Sislo, Randy Schiff; Aunts Nicole Loukes, Tricia (Bill) Princl, Desirae Loukes, a special cousin Zander Sislo who was like a best friend to him, along with many other cousins and relatives.
Austin was a Senior at Lakeville North High School. He enlisted in the National Guard to be a heavy equipment operator. He also had an interest in becoming an Electrician. Austin developed a passion for running and joined Cross Country in 5th grade. He ran every year through his Senior year. Austin attended countless events in the area, most admirably Grandmas 1/2 marathon, Grandmas full marathon, completed twice Medtronic Twin Cities marathon and Madison 1/2 Marathon.
Austin had many interests which included riding dirt bikes, ATVs, motorcycles and mountain biking. Austin built motorized bicycles and recently a go-kart. Austin was mechanically privileged and could wrench on anything. He and his friend Brody love Guns n Roses. Together the two of them came up with the name Nantook for Austin’s newest motorized bike. He was a hunter and a member of the “Train Gang”, a group originated by the Sislo’s at the family hunting caboose. He also loved summers at the family cabin. Our son had a heart of gold. He would lend a hand to anyone in need, offer a ride to a friend, and was a mentor to Lyman Jr, Levi and Annabelle. They loved and adored him so much and he loved them unconditionally. He was incredibly kind-hearted, polite, really funny, always putting a smile on peoples’ faces and making others laugh. He will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be at Hosanna Church in Lakeville, MN on June 26th. Visitation is 9:30-11:00am; memorial at 11:00am. Interment will be June 27th at Lakeside Cemetery in South Range, WI at 12:00pm with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2:00pm at Lucius Woods Park in Solon Springs, WI.
