Berniece “Bonnie” Anderson, 98, Superior passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Essential Health St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN.
She was born on January 28, 1917 in Redwood Falls, MN to Bert and Alda Kleaver and has been a Superior resident since 1948.
Bonnie graduated from Redwood Falls High School and earned and Bachelor of Science and registered nurse degrees from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis in 1940, majoring in Public Health Nursing.
She married Dr. Ralph T. Anderson on June 24, 1942 and celebrated 38 years of marriage before he passed away in 1980.
She was a member of the former Hammond Avenue Presbyterian Church where she served as a member of session and as a Deacon. She was currently a member of United Presbyterian Church.
Bonnie was a charter member of Chapter BU of the PEO Sisterhood, a life member of the Superior Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and a volunteer for many years.
Bonnie is survived by two sons, Keith B. (Tamryn) Anderson, Superior, Roger (Anita) Anderson, Superior; one daughter, Joyce C. (Rodney) Munson, Eau Claire, WI; six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Ralph, Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ray W. and Kenneth P. Kleaver.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM and continue until the 2:00 PM Memorial Service on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the United Presbyterian Church with Pastor Joel Huenemann, officiating.
Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Bonnie’s family would like to thank the Lighthouse of Superior and Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center for the loving care they showed to Bonnie and the family during her stay.
