Bernice C. Carlson

Bernice C. Carlson of Hartsville SC (formerly of Superior, WI) passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 12, 2019 surrounded by her daughter Jean, granddaughter Ariel, and her caregiver Danna. She was born in Poplar, WI on December 6, 1925 to Laurence and Edith Edquist.

She was preceded in death by husband Arthur, her children, Mike and Conrad, siblings, Lawrence, Roy, Albert, Melvin, Iver, Louise, Leona and Elaine. She is survived by her children, John, Steve, Pat, Jean and step-children Brett, Scott, Deb, and Tammi; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bernice was a homemaker but also worked at Superior Memorial Hospital as a housekeeper. Her children and grandchildren were her world and she loved nothing more than rocking a baby to sleep. She enjoyed dancing, coffee, chocolate, traveling to visit family, finding a good deal shopping, as well as the occasional trip to the casino.

She was loved by so many that knew her but she never truly realized the impact that she made on people. She was beautiful inside and out. Bernice is remembered as being kind, generous, funny, empathetic, mischievous, and…stubborn all rolled into a little package.  She was tiny but fierce. Your wings were ready, but my heart was not. I love you Mom.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 19, 2018 at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5 ^th Street, Superior and will continue until the 2:00 PM funeral service with Pastor H. Duane Aslyn officiating. A Celebration of Life service will be planned for this summer.
