Beverly J. Degraef

Beverly Jane DeGraef, 94, lifelong resident of Superior, WI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 22, 2023, with her family by her side at Essentia St. Mary’s in Superior.

Beverly was born in Superior on August 30, 1929, the daughter of Dewey and Jeanette (Boutin) Lajoie.

She was united in marriage to Clifford DeGraef on December 24, 1947, in Superior. They spent fifty-five wonderful years together before his passing in 2002.

She was a longtime member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Superior.

Bev loved visiting with her family and friends. Whether it was taking a ride out to Solon Spring or hopping on a bus to the casino. She also loved to play cards and admire the beautiful flowers in her yard. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her sons, Peter (Linda) DeGraef, Louis (Pam Gidley) DeGraef, and Ronald DeGraef; daughters, Valerie (Blaine) Bacon and Jeanette (Dennis) Olson; sister Patricia Marshall; seventeen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Bev is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clifford; sons James, Wayne, Edward, and Michael DeGraef; daughter Roberta Lee; brothers, Walter, Wallace, Robert, Dewey Jr., Richard, and Rudy Lajoie; sisters, Laura, Marcella, Donna, and Judy; and her parents.

A Celebration of Bev’s life will be held in the spring or summer of 2024.
