Blanche M. Carlson, 92, Superior, died Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on March 7, 1921 in Superior to Francis and Blanche (Dauplaise) Meyett.
Blanche graduated from Cathedral High School.
She married Eugene “Gene” Carlson on December 10, 1943 and celebrated sixty-four years of marriage before he passed away on July 26, 2008.
Blanche was a longtime member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and its kitchen ladies and rug ladies. She enjoyed traveling, camping and fishing with her husband.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Jean Raunio Newton, Superior, Joanne (Charles) Wright, Poplar; one son, Dennis (Bobbie Fourdice) Carlson, Coon Rapids, MN; six grandchildren, Melissa, Jennifer, Scott, Vicki, Jodie and Shawn and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Gene, Blanche was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret Ann Carlson, one brother, Walter J. Meyett and a great-granddaughter, Katelyn Peterson.
Blanche’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff and residents of Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center for their wonderful care and kindness Blanche received during her three year stay.

Private family services were held with the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home assisting the family with arrangements.
Blanche’s grandchildren were recognized as honorary pallbearers.
