Bobbi Juanita Reed, 30, died peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at her home in Superior, WI. She was born in Superior on May 24, 1991, the daughter of Fred Reed and Terry Cockerham.
Bobbi was very shy growing up but had the ability to light up the room. Bobbi was known as the “Diva.” She was always trying to be like her big sis, Lacey and would always “borrow” her clothes and makeup, she loved to tag along. She would often bother her younger sister, “Popeye” Bailey to comb her hair and scratch her back. Bobbi adored her little big brother, Luca and enjoyed going on outings, especially the beach with him. The bond between the four of them can never be broken.
Bobbi had a love for writing poems, journaling, bead work, and had a true passion for scrap-booking. She was so smart in so many ways. She had a knack for making people feel special and would write personalized poems in all her letters and cards. She remembered all the special dates. We are fortunate Bobbi left her story behind in her scrapbooks. Her family and the family events were so important to her, and her family will never be the same without her.
Bobbi became a mother at a young age to her sweet son, Gavin. She loved playing video games with him, especially Crash Bandicoot. They enjoyed watching movies together with a buffet of candy and sweets. Her favorite being gummy bears. She most recently gave birth to her daughter, Aubree.
Bobbi always stayed connected with her family regardless of where her travels led her. Bobbi had a special bond with her dad, and she enjoyed his doting on her with food and a morning chat over coffee. She had such a free spirit, using humor in uncomfortable situations or just throwing out an occasional joke that only she would laugh at.
Although Bobbi went down some dark paths, she truly did her best and wanted to overcome so many obstacles. Bobbi struggled with the disease of addiction throughout her short time on this earth. She would fall down but would get back up with a new sense of hope, that one day she would maintain sobriety and become the best version of her true self. The disease of addiction changed Bobbi and the devastation it has had on her family and friends will impact us for a lifetime. Bobbi was more than her disease. She cared for others so deeply, especially her family. She felt others pain and wished that she could help everyone that was hurting.
Bobbi had a contagious smile and laugh that we will never forget. She had goals, desires and future dreams. Bobbi wanted to go to welding school and become a welder. Bobbi recently graduated from inpatient treatment and was so proud of the work that she did, she smiled again. Sadly, the disease did what it always does and lied telling her “Just one more time.” Bobbi was called home to her heavenly Father and is no longer broken, alone, or suffering. The world lost a wonderful human being, a daughter, mother, and sister, but most importantly a person who was so deeply loved by her family and close friends.
She is survived by her son, Gavin Reed and daughter, Aubree Reed, Superior, WI; sisters, Lacey Reed, Superior, WI, Bailey Cockerham (Linus Kujava), Hermantown, MN, and Toni (Will) Wise, of Ohio; brother, Luca Cockerham (Hannah Heikkila), Spooner, WI; nieces, Penelope, Sidney, and Elise; nephews, Michael, Vincent, Jesse, and her soon to be born nephew, Pluto; parents, Fred Reed and Terry Cockerham; both of Superior, WI; grandmother, Rose Fagan, Superior, WI; grandfather, Robert Fagan, of Florida; and grandma, Ruby Reed, of Ohio; many uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, and her recovery community. She said, “if nephews and nieces were jewels, I would have the most beautiful gems.”
She is preceded in death by her grandpa, Lester Reed, and great-grandparents, Leo and Julie Grenier.
“We love you to the moon and back Bobbi, we love you past the moon and stars, the planets and the sun wrapped around everything twenty bajillion times … something Bobbi always said.
