True Polish Prince
Boguslaw “Bob” Wnuk passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025, in Spooner, WI, surrounded by love.
He was born on March 12, 1943, in Warsaw, Poland, to Wladyslaw and Josephine Wnuk. He was brought over by his grandfather, Tom Podgorek, and mother to the United States in 1961.
Bob was proud to serve his adopted country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, carrying that same spirit of loyalty and hard work throughout his life.
Bob dedicated 27 years to Burlington Northern Railroad before retiring after an injury. He loved his work, but even more, he loved the simple joys that filled his days.
A lifelong fan of the Packers and Detroit Tigers, Bob could often be found cheering on his favorite teams or spending time outdoors. He especially loved time at the cabin and fishing at Deep Lake near Iron River. Bob had a passion for cooking that brought his family together. His kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and friends who knew him loved his homemade soups — especially his turkey rice and vegetable soup and his famous dill pickle soup. Everyone looked forward to his well-known beef jerky, and those who were lucky enough to get some always knew it was made with love. His kitchen was a place of warmth, laughter, and comfort.
His family was his world, and the smile on his face was indescribable whenever his children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren walked into the room.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Lucinda “Cindy” Wnuk; his children, Robert Wnuk (significant other, Beth), Michael Wnuk, Jon M. Wnuk, and Lisa Wnuk, all of Superior, WI; his stepchildren, Michael (Rhawnie) Britton and Michele (Jason) Tuomi; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Diane Higgins and Janice LaGesse, Buda, TX; brother-in-law, Patrick Higgins, Duluth, MN; and many nieces, nephews, and their significant others who will forever hold his memory close.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wladyslaw and Josephine Wnuk; twin girls; and two sisters, Mary Helen and Lisa Ann.
Pallbearers are Marshall Philips, Patrick Higgins, Jon M. Wnuk, Jason Tuomi, Zac Martinson, and Cole Prior.
