Bonita “Bonnie” Sue Harvey, 82, of Lake Nebagamon, WI peacefully passed away at home on Friday, September 8th, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Bonnie was born on April 19th, 1941, to Lois and Leonard Engstrom. Her mother Lois remarried Harold Becker in 1961. Harold had a considerable influence on Bonnie’s life and her upbringing. Bonnie grew up in Superior, WI and attended Cathedral High School. One summer, when Bonnie and her family were visiting their cabin in Lake Nebagamon, she met the love of her life, Donald Harvey. Don and Bonnie were married on February 6, 1960, and welcomed three children Donald Jr., Darren, and Becky. Bonnie was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.
She was a longtime member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lake Nebagamon.
Bonnie had a passion for Lake Nebagamon and was active in the community she loved so much. She loved planning parties, and enjoyed biking, aerobics, yoga, Zumba, and downhill skiing. She will always be remembered for the love, care, and compassion that she shared with her son Darren and her other children.
She is survived by her husband, Don; son, Donny (Joni) Harvey Jr.; daughter, Becky Harvey; sister, Bobbi (Steve) Germond; grandchildren, Danielle, Lindsey, Heather, Logan, and Evan, great grandchildren, Natalie, Lilly, Jordan, Cooper, Lainey, and Hailey; and several nieces and nephews.
Bonnie is proceeded in death by her son, Darren; great-grandson, Lukas; mother, Lois; father, Leonard; stepfather, Harold; sister, Judy, and her brother, Terry.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Bonnie’s caregiver, Ali Drinkwine and her daughter and little assistant, Raegan.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM, on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 11648 E. County Rd. B, Lake Nebagamon, WI, and will continue until the 10:00 AM Memorial Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.
Honorary Pallbearers for the service will be Logan Moreau, Evan Moreau, Neil Fisher, Kevin Jones, David Anderson, and Jeff Ormston.
