Bonnie R. Rankin

April 15, 1934 — March 29, 2020

Bonnie J. Rankin, 85, lifelong area resident, died peacefully, Sunday, March 29, 2020 at Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hawthorne, WI.

She was born April 15, 1934 in Duluth, MN, the daughter of Frank and Hazel (Brodie) Rose. She graduated from the former Central High School in Duluth, MN.

Bonnie was a lady of Lutheran faith. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and enjoyed her years as a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. For her love of peanut butter, her grandchildren affectionately called her “Grandma Jiff”. Bonnie was also very active at Middle River and her presence there will be missed by many!

She is survived by her daughters, Mar-Bon “Maggie” (Patrick) Wallner, Inver Grove Heights, MN, Violet (Brett) Thompson, Iron River, WI, Kadanse “Gert” Tverberg, Meridianville, AL, and Theresa “Dude” (Dale) Lundgren, Lake Nebagamon, WI; grandchildren, John Wallner, Charles (Brittnie) Janovik Jr., Jessica (Derrick) Stromberg, Phillip (Heather) Tverberg, Kenneth (Tanya) Tverberg, Danielle (Jacob) Grigsby, and Zachery Lundgren; great-grandchildren, Cecilia, Cole, Jase, Esme, Minha, and Lilah; sister, Margaret Butts; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cecil in 1996; a son, Marvin Rankin in 1983; and her parents.

Due to CDC guidelines and Governor mandates, services for Bonnie are pending for a later date.
