Bruce L. Dunning, 75, passed away July 2, 2024, at home in Fort Myers, FL. He was born the son of Clarence and Ruth (Luckenbill) Dunning on March 19, 1949, in Superior, WI.
Bruce graduated from Superior Senior High School, class of 1969. After graduation, he worked for Rueben Johnson & Son. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. Upon completion of his service, he entered the DC Metropolitan Police Academy and was employed for many years at the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington DC.
He married Beverly Kalimon. They were married for many years before her passing.
In his free time, Bruce would shoot pool with his friends and enjoyed following the Minnesota Twins while at training camp in Fort Myers. He also followed the local baseball team there, the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels.
Bruce is survived by his brother Gary (Alana) Dunning, Superior; sister Kay (Paul) Freer, Superior; stepdaughters Meg (Bob) Surowiec, Alva, FL, Kimberly (Chris) Knight, Tulsa, OK, and Abbigail (Michael) McCraffrey, Mount Lebanon, PA; and stepsons Kenneth (Linda) Kalimon, Pittsburgh, PA, and Kristopher (Debra) Kalimon, Pittsburgh, PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Beverly Dunning; and brother Dick Dunning.
Burial will be at a later date, with Military Honors, in Washington, DC.
