Calvin C. Burgraff, 90, resident of Virginia, MN, formerly of, Hoyt Lakes, MN and Eau Claire, WI, passed away surrounded by his family, Thursday, July 19, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. He was born in Superior, WI, June 28, 1928, the son of Henry and Idabelle Burgraff.
Calvin served his country honorably in the United States Army.
He married the love of his life, Mildred Ann Nelson, August 29, 1950 and they were soon to celebrate sixty-eight years of marriage.
Calvin worked as a materials inspector/machinist for Erie Mining Company in Hoyt Lakes, for over thirty years before his retirement in 1989. He was a member of the American Welding Society.
Calvin loved traveling with his wife, Mildred. He also enjoyed gardening, carpentry and photography. Above all, Calvin was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred, Virginia, MN; son, Calvin (Jodi), Aurora, MN; daughters, Deborah (Bruce) Warren, Virginia, MN, Cheryl Anderson, Bossier City, LA, and Linda (Steven) Larson, Britt, MN; grandchildren, Samantha, Michael, Sarah, Andy, Matthew, Stacy, Sherry, and Kurtis; seventeen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ted and Hank; and sisters, Deloris and Amy.
Private family services will be held.
