Carl Jamison, 69, of Poplar, went to be with the Lord as he passed peacefully on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Duluth, MN on April 19, 1944 to Ross and Deloris (Lorentzon) Jamison.
He married his high school sweetheart, Janet Howenstine on December 17, 1966 and recently celebrated 47 years of marriage.
Carl sailed the Great Lakes for over 40 years as a chief cook.
He loved to go camping, traveling, golfing and snuggling with his baby, cocker spaniel, Abby.
Carl was a wonderful husband, dad and grandpa and will be sadly missed.
In addition to his wife Jan, Carl is survived by his mother, Deloris Jamison; two sons, Mike (Shelly) Jamison and Bobby Jamison; one daughter, Wendy (Troy) Follis; five grandchildren, Cory, Jonah, Nicole, Hunter and Parker; five brothers, James (Bev) Jamison, Ross (Inez) Jamison II, Elywn (Marilyn) Jamison, David (Judy) Jamison, Donald (Marcia) Jamison and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, his brother, Steven Jamison and his maternal grandmother, Gladys Lorentzon.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and will continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Service on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Mission Covenant Church in Poplar, WI.
Pastor Darrell Nelson will officiate.
Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
