Carla Bergstrom

April 3, 1930 — January 26, 2016

Carla J. Bergstrom, 85, lifelong Superior resident, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 in her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on April 3, 1930 in Superior to Wendell C. and Edith J. (Peterson) Olson.

Carla and her husband Charles E. “Chuck” Bergstrom were founding owners and operators of Bergstrom Electric for over 42 years.

She is survived by one son, Randy (LuAnn) Bergstrom, Superior; one daughter, Wendy (Larry) Sprague, Jackson, OH; four grandchildren, Alison Bergstrom, Bryan Bergstrom, Kelly Washam and Adam Sprague; four great-grandchildren, Rylee and Dawson Sprague and Willow and Meadow Washam; her special friends, Lloydean Olson and Sharon Miller and her loving canine companion, Windsor.

In addition to her husband, Carla is preceded in death by a son, Edward “Skeeter” Bergstrom; one grandson, Scott Bergstrom and her parents.

She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for 58 years; Superior Elks Lodge #403, United Cerebral Palsy and the National Electrical Contractors Association.

Carla and Chuck enjoyed traveling to state and national conventions for the Elks and NECA throughout the years.

She loved spending time with family and friends especially at their lake home in Lake Nebagamon and many trips to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico throughout the years.

Visitation will begin at 11:30 AM and will continue until the 1:00 PM Funeral Service on Friday, January 29, 2016 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Holmes, of Darrow Road Wesleyan Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Carla’s grandchildren will be recognized as pallbearers.

Carla’s family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Dr. Sonja Swenson, St. Luke’s Hospice and Interim Health Care for the wonderful care Carla received.

In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Elks Scholarship Fund, St. Luke's Hospice or a charity of the giver’s choice.
