Carla A. Boelk

Carla A. Boelk, 49, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth, MN. She was born July 28, 1974, the daughter of Richard and Dorothy (Atmen) Dobervich in Fargo, ND.

She had previously been employed as part of the assembly team at Feradyne Outdoors and had also worked locally as a telemarketer. Now her time was spent helping with her grandchildren and loving every minute of it. She thoroughly enjoyed the bingo games at the Belgian Club and Black Bear Casino. She loved singing karaoke with family and friends and that was a great evening of entertainment. She had a great voice. Carla was always watching for the next horror movie and crime show to keep her on the edge of her seat. Her outdoor activities were fishing for whatever was biting that day and deer hunting. She was an excellent shot.

Carla will always be remembered for her warm and generous nature and for her willingness to help.

She is survived by her son, Joseph Lewis, Jr, Isanti, MN; daughters, Starr (Robert) Wicklund, Superior, WI, and Tricia (Christian) Vargas, New Jersey; grandchildren: Sabrina Atkinson, Cecelia Atkinson, Millie Atkinson, and Baby Boy Atkinson (on the way); and her mother, Dorothy Yonke, Apple Valley, MN. Carla’s extended family includes Lance “Bubba” (Jennifer) Wicklund, Superior; Brea (Amy Koehler) Wicklund, Superior; Mykayla (Joshua Lambert) Wicklund, Superior; lifelong friend/sister Michelle (Minnie) Espinoza, St. Paul; MN, Shelly (Ryatt) Parsley, Superior; and numerous lifelong friends.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 12:00 to 3:00 PM at Billings Park Pavilion 1 in Superior.
