Carole F. Tierney

Carole F. Tierney, 79, Superior, WI resident, died Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN. She was born on July 30, 1941 in Crosby Ironton, MN to Frank and Flora (Cochrane) Rukavina.

She graduated from Silver Bay High School in 1939. Carole was an assembly worker for Jeno’s Pizza for many years. After retirement, she became a crossing guard for the Superior School District for fifteen years. She married Mark Tierney on July 22, 1972 in Silver Bay, MN and celebrated forty-eight years of marriage. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Carole is survived by her husband, Mark and brother, Richard Rukavina, Pensacola, FL. She is preceded in death by her parents and aunt, Lola Hart.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and continue until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Superior, WI.
