Carolyn Ann Ward

Carolyn A. Ward, 92, longtime Superior, WI resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Middle River Health & Rehabilitation in Hawthorne, WI. Carolyn was born April 17, 1933, in Joliet, Il, the daughter of Eldon Hoffman and Pauline (Brown) Hoffman.

She graduated from Joliet Central High School, class of 1951. She was united in marriage to Raymond Ward on January 30, 1954 in Joliet. They celebrated 29 wonderful years together before his passing in 1983.

For seven years she was owner-manager of Buck-N-Bass Resort in Barnes, WI until retirement in 1994.

Carolyn was a faithful member of St. William Catholic Church. She was active with the Red Hats and the St. William Canasta Club. Her Catholic faith was a guiding light throughout her life and a source of comfort and strength. She devoted her life to her family and her faith. Carolyn will be remembered for her quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering love for her family.

Carolyn is survived by her children: Kevin (Anne) Ward, Foxboro, WI; Sheryl (Steve) Bjekich, Morris, Il; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers Larry Hoffman and John (Beatrice) Hoffman; nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.

Preceding her in death were her daughter, Pamela Sullivan and son-in-law Dennis Sullivan; brother Gene Hoffman and sister-in-law Beverly Hoffman; and sister-in-law, Carol Hoffman.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Duluth Essentia Hospice and the staff at Middle River Health & Rehabilitation for their compassionate care.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at St. William Catholic Church, 3095 E County Road B, Foxboro, WI and will continue until the Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant. Burial will take place in the spring at St. William Cemetery.
