Casimir "Mr. Cris" Krysiak

Casimir “Mr. Cris” Krysiak, 78, Superior, died Tuesday, November 16, 2010 in the Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on July 17, 1932 in Cudahy, WI to Casimir and Josephine (Kroll) Krysiak.

He served in the United States Army as a paratrooper during the Korean War.

He was the owner/operator of Mr. Cris’s Salon in East End Superior and then Cris’s Family Hair Care in Downtown Superior.

Cris married Elizabeth “Betty” Kabasa in Ashland, WI on June 11, 1955 and recently celebrated fifty-five years of marriage.

He was a longtime active member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church; a member of the Superior Knights of Columbus and he was also a member of the Iron River VFW. He loved to volunteer at St. Francis Home in the Park and Essentia Health formerly St. Mary’s Hospital in Superior. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to walk; loved polka music and enjoyed watching football.

In addition to his wife Betty, Cris is survived by three daughters, Linda (Mike) Bergstrom, Superior, Lori Doup, Superior, Lisa (Jamie Thomas) Walkowiak, Duluth, MN; one son, Craig (Heather) Krysiak, Superior; eight grandchildren, Mike Bergstrom II, Carrie Bergstrom, Katie Bergstrom, Kelly Bergstrom, David Sigfrids, Andy (Alex) Sigfrids, Mara and Collin Krysiak; one great-grandson, Kristopher Sigfrids; one sister, Dolly (John) Karpinski, Franklin, WI; one brother, Jerry Krysiak, Scottsdale, AZ and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Ralph Krysiak.

Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM until the 5:00 PM Memorial Mass on Monday, November 22, 2010 in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski as celebrant.
Inurnment will be in St. Francis Cemetery at a later date.
Cris’s grandchildren will be recognized as honorary pallbearers.
