Catherine "Katy" Theresa Hart

Catherine “Katy” Theresa Hart, 78, lifelong Superior resident, died Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, MN with family at her side. She was born in Superior, July 29, 1939, the daughter of Ralph and Esther (O’Brien) Harty.

Catherine was a hairstylist at JC Penney’s in Duluth, and various hair salons in the area for many years before her retirement in 2000.

She was a member of Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church in Superior.

Above all, Catherine was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, who spent her life caring for others, and putting her children’s and grandchildren’s needs above her own. She will be greatly missed by those she loved.

She is survived by her daughters, Kay (Mark) Sitek, Superior, WI and Tracey (Brian) Beyer, Maple, WI; grandchildren, Sean, Steven and Spencer Sitek, and Bridget Beyer; brother, John (Geri) Harty, South Range, WI; sisters-in-law, Delores Harty, Superior, WI and Janice Mahaffey, Fitchberg, WI.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dean; son, Tim; brother, Ralph Harty and sister, Mary Metcalf.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM, Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, 1410 Baxter Avenue, Superior, and will continue until the 10:30 AM Memorial Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
