Cecilia R. Boettcher

Cecilia R. Boettcher, 84, long time Superior resident, died peacefully on March 10, 2023 at Solvay Hospice House, Duluth, MN. She was born in Milwaukee, WI on December 21, 1938, the daughter of Edward and Celia (Prolasiewicz) Simolon.

Cecilia was united in marriage to Franklin Boettcher and they raised three children.

She worked for many years as a production worker at the Pillsbury plant in Poplar, WI. She was a member of Eagle Aerie #80 in Superior.  In her free time, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, was an avid golfer, and liked to fish. She loved her canine companions. Cecilia particularly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Cecilia is survived by her sons, Franklin Boettcher, Superior, WI and Robert (Sandy) Boettcher, Superior, WI; daughter Cecilia “Dolly” (Robert “Lance”) Gross, Kenosha WI; grandchildren Cheryl, Chrissy, Shane, Robby and Sarah; and several great-grandchildren; brother, Edward (Karen) Simolon, Neshkoro, WI; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin, and her parents.

Cecilia’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you and appreciation for the wonderful care she received from Solvay Hospice House and Essentia Hospice staff. They would also like to thank Downs-LeSage Funeral Home for assisting with arrangements.

A Celebration of Life and Time of Remembrance will be held at Eagles Aerie #80, 1710 N 12 ^th Street, Superior, on Saturday, March 25 ^th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, where a luncheon will be provided.
