Charles "Fred" Roberts

Charles “Fred” Roberts died Saturday, January 27, 2018 in his home in Superior. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska on July 29, 1970, the eldest son of Jesse Roberts and Sue Johnson.

Fred attended Superior Senior High School and after graduation traveled around the U.S., living and working for longer periods in Nevada, Georgia and Florida. He spent most of the last ten years of his life working for the Anoka Area Ice Arena in Anoka, Minnesota.

Fred enjoyed spending time conversing with family and friends, and searching for precious metals, jewels and coins. He was also a lifelong fan of Underdog, Shoeshine Boy’s heroic alter ego, and sported an Underdog tattoo.

Fred is survived by his mother Sue; brother, Jason Roberts; nephew, Tyler Roberts and a large extended family. He is preceded in death by his father Jesse, his aunt Kathy Hertel and his grandparents Donald and Dorothy Johnson.

A visitation will be held at Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5 ^th Street, Superior on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. A celebration of Fred’s life will be held after the ground thaws. Eventual internment of Fred’s ashes will be at the Waino Ever Rest Cemetery.
