Charles “Joe” Kotera, Jr., 52, Superior, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014 in Prescott, AZ. He was born on October 27, 1962 in Superior to Charles and Evelyn (Lauderville) Kotera and was a lifelong Superior resident.
Joe attended Northwestern High School in Maple and graduated in 1981.
In his teen years, he was employed by the Maple Coop. After high school his employment varied throughout the years, including being a skilled carpenter, truck driver and a manager for Waste Management (formerly the Peltz Group, Recycle America Alliance) for over ten years.
In his free time, Joe was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to be out hunting, bow hunting, the infamous road hunting and spending time with his dogs. He enjoyed 4-wheeling, snowmobiling and loved having friends and family out for weekend bon fires. The two things he enjoyed more than anything was out riding his Harley or spending time with his grandson Brenden.
Joe was a huge sports fan including football, hockey and NASCAR. His most favorite of them all was cheering for his Vikings every week whether they would win or lose.
Joe is survived by his son, Rob (Nikki Premo) Kotera, Superior; his father, Chuck Kotera, Superior, his mother, Evelyn (Ernie) Wallender, Virginia, MN; two brothers, Jay (Ellen) Kotera, Superior, John (Ellen) Kotera, Germany; his grandson, Brenden Kotera, Anoka, MN; his granddaughter, Zily Kotera, Superior, WI and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and his two loving companions, Rusty and Rosie.
