Charles A. Wiesner

Charles A. "Chuck" Wiesner, 82, formally of Elkhorn, WI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Essentia Health St. Mary's in Duluth, MN. He was surrounded by his family.

He was born on October 29, 1941, in Brunswick, GA, the son of Alwin S. and Muriel E. (Vincent) Wiesner. His family later moved back to Superior, WI, where he graduated from the former East High School. Chuck then continued his education at the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Chuck was a member of the former First Presbyterian Church, Superior. He was also a Shriner and member of the Superior Shrine Club and the Superior Acacia Masonic Lodge. His lifelong passion was his involvement with railroading. Chuck was a member of the Mid-Continent Railway Museum and the American Association of Passenger Railroad Car Operators (AAPRCO).

Above all, Chuck loved spending time with his family. He was a wonderful brother, proud uncle, and friend. He will be missed by all.

He is survived by his siblings, Kathleen (Robert) Larson, Alborn, MN, Constance Scheele, Gary (Diane) Wiesner, and Patricia (James) Hannan, all of Lake Nebagamon, WI; nieces Wendi (Paul) Clark, Justine (Ken) Baxa, Megan Wiesner, and Kathleen (Jonathan) Rice; nephews Paul (Jessica) Larson, Adam (Ashley) Scheele, Matthew (Mary) Wiesner, Michael (Tara) Wiesner, Timothy (Laura) Hannan, and Jeffrey (Emily) Hannan.

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents Alwin and Muriel Wiesner.

A special thank you to both the staff at Hayward Health Services and Duluth Essentia Hospital for their excellent care and compassion.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
