Cheryl D. Wheatley

Cheryl Diane Wheatley, 69, was born October 17, 1953, and left us on August 19, 2023. She was born in Superior, WI to Bob and Maryann (Peacock) Berg.

She graduated from Superior High School in 1972. She then went on to receive a typing degree from WITC in Superior.

In 1977 she married Robert “Spider” Wheatley and remained happily married until his passing in 1992. They had a very special connection and love for each other. One people would be lucky to have in their lifetime

While Cheryl had multiple jobs over the years, her most passionate role was taking care of her daughter Amber and helping senior citizens with home health care. She was a devoted caretaker in all her relationships.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her mother and father Maryann and Bob Berg, her husband Spider, her sister Deanne, and three brothers Ronny, Joey, and Bobby.

She is survived by her children Robert (Melissa) Wheatley and Amber Wheatley; brothers Johnny (Jill) Berg, James Berg, and Jerry Berg; brother-in-laws John Wheatley, England and Doug Hildenbrand, Hibbing; and sisters Alison (Jim) Sutherland and Roberta Reed. As well as several nieces and nephews who were like “bonus children” to her. They each had their own special relationship with Cheryl.

All of those who love Cheryl will remember her being up for good time, her love of spending time with family, traveling, 4-wheeling, camping, and her talent of crocheting. One of her favorite places to be was her “She Shed” in Iron River WI, with her best friend and companion “Baby”. They were an inseparable duo who were great company for each other.

Cheryl will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to cross paths with her.

There will be a private family memorial service at 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 26th, 2023, followed by a luncheon at VIP in Superior at 1:00 PM, for those that wish to stop by and celebrate Cheryl’s life.
