Cierra “CeCe” Ruthmarie Dorin (17), longtime resident of Superior, passed away October 26, 2022 in Children’s Minnesota hospital, Minneapolis, MN after a brief illness.
Cierra was born in Milwaukee, WI, July 2, 2005. Tom and Katy (Meys) Dorin brought CeCe home as their Foster-Daughter in September of 2005, and adopted her on August 16, 2006. She was a member of Holy Assumption Catholic Church in Superior. She was just beginning her senior year at Superior High School.
CeCe was a people person. She loved spending time with her friends and family. When she was out and about she would say “Hi!” and “Bye!” to everyone she encountered. CeCe loved to watch Kids Youtube on her Ipad, and loved all different kinds of music. She enjoyed going to school, especially the bus rides to and from! Most of all, she loved going on car rides with her parents to look for trains, causing trouble with her Auntie JoJo, and hanging out with her best friend/cousin, Caitlin. She will be greatly missed.
Cierra is survived by her parents, Tom and Katy Dorin, paternal grandmother, Karen Dorin, honorary maternal grandparents, Bill and Pat Meys, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Dr. Patrick Dorin, and maternal grandparents, Edward and Ruthmarie Meys.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM on Thursday, November 03, 2022 at Cathedral of Christ the King, 1111 Belknap Street, Superior, WI, and will continue until the Mass of Christian Burial with Fr. Andrew Ricci officiating at 11:00 AM.
Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery in Superior directly following.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Meys, David Meys, John Dorin, Dr. Carl Miller, Darin Boese, and Jeff Allen. Brothers of her heart, Garrett Lickiss and Josh Gerding, will be Honorary Pallbearers.
CeCe’s family requests that we celebrate her life with us in casual dress and bright colors.
We would like to thank the staff at Essentia Health for the wonderful care she was given throughout her life, and the staff at Children’s Minnesota hospital in Minneapolis for their care of Cierra, and kindness to us during her final days.
