Clarence "Snooky" R. Brown, 87, longtime Poplar area resident, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016 in a home he built surrounded by family. He was born on May 6, 1929 in Superior, the son of Paul and Edna (Johnson) Brown.
Clarence worked as a farmer and Mink farmer, a private contractor and also worked for Lunda Construction. Clarence was an Independent Carpenter most of his life and was a member of Carpenters Local Union 361. He also built and maintained a rental business.
He loved fishing and picking berries. He also found satisfaction in building homes and providing for family.
He is survived by his daughter, Jacquelyn (Mike) Phillips, Poplar, WI; three sons, Lawrence (Tammy) Brown, Maple, WI, Bruce (Wendy) Brown, Maple, WI and Roy (Nicole) Brown, Lake Nebagamon, WI; eleven grandchildren, Jessica, Amanda, Brady, Morgan, Jaimie, Ashley and Jordan Brown; Riley Stowers, Caleb and Caden Phillips.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura; his parents; grandson, Ryan Stowers and one brother, Paul Brown.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Central Assembly of God Church, 3000 Hammond Avenue, Superior and continue until the 3:00 PM Funeral Service with Pastor Tom Miller officiating.
Burial will be in the Cloverland Cemetery at a later date.
