Clifford "Cliff" W. Gagner

Clifford “Cliff” W. Gagner, 62, lifelong Superior resident, died Saturday, June 3, 2017 peacefully at the Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, MN. He was born on August 6, 1954 in Superior, WI to Clifford and Gladys (Rice) Gagner, Sr.

He graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1972. Cliff was employed with the Duluth News Tribune/Forum Communications Printing as a plate-maker for over twenty-three years.

He married his wife Anne on July 9, 1992 in Superior, WI and would have celebrated twenty-five years of marriage next month.

Cliff was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Superior Men’s Bowling Association. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing especially for musky, softball and going to the stock car races. He also coached youth basketball and youth bowling for many years and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Cliff was a wonderful caring man and will be sadly missed by all.

Cliff is survived by his wife, Anne; one daughter, Jessica (J.D.) Daniels, FL; three sons, Chris (Staci Semborski) Gagner, and Zack Gagner, both of Duluth, MN and Justin (Ashley) McGuire, Superior, WI; seven grandchildren, Justis, Karra, Haley, Jaylynn, Trace, Easton and Gage; one sister, Gail (Doug) Myhrman, Duluth, MN and one brother, Gene (Debbie) Gagner, Duluth, MN and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 4315 E. 3rd Street, Superior. Visitation will resume at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 9, 2017 at St. Anthony Catholic Church and continue until the 12:00 PM Memorial Service with Rev. Fr. Adam Laski. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Mencel, George LaFont, Butch Carter, Oscar Steinhilb, Chris Anstett, Mike Stick and Andy Bennett.
