Conrad was called home to Glory on September 23,2024. He was born on the home place in Hawthorne on November 12,1941, to Dan and Helga Johnson. Conrad was proud to have been born, raised and a lifelong resident of Hawthorne and he was very proud of his Swedish heritage. In 1972 he married Sandy and together they had 3 daughters and eventually 10 grandkids, all of whom he said took after him!
Conrad served in the United States Army, became a master heavy equipment operator, and served on the Town of Hawthorne board for many years but his real passion was farming and raising Black Angus cattle.
Conrad was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Cedric, and a granddaughter Kassidy.
He is survived by his wife Sandy, daughters Wanda (Kent) Paulsen, Bethany (David) Crail, and Lynne (Jack) Raatz, grandkids Kole, Kayla, Kade, Kian, Dean, Luke, Jude, Brantley, Beckett and Bryer, a brother Courtney and his twin sister Carolyn, many nieces and nephews and many great friends. His parting words to all were "Remember the Poor Farmer"!
A Celebration of Conrad's Life will be held at Mission Covenant Church on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Family and friends are invited for coffee, fellowship and visitation starting at 9:30 AM with a service to follow at 10:30 AM.
