Constance Urban

Constance C. "Connie" Urban, 84, a longtime Superior resident, died Wednesday, October 07, 2009 in Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on December 4, 1924 in Cornucopia, WI, where she grew up, to Harmon and Eva (Guyer) Wood.
She graduated from Bayfield High School and after graduation she moved to Milwaukee and returned to Superior a few years later where she met and married her husband Robert J. Urban. Besides being a stay at home Mom, Connie was employed over the years as a waitress and nurse's aide.
Connie was a former longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church. She recently enjoyed services with Rev. Joel Huenemann of United Presbyterian Church at her apartment building.
She was a devoted bingo player, enjoyed playing cards, bowling and an occasional trip to the gaming casinos. She was very fond of her most recent pet, Pudgie.
Connie is survived by one daughter, Marcy (Bill) Olenski, Foxboro, WI; two sons, Scott Urban, Solon Springs, WI, Jack (Julie) Urban, Superior and four grandsons, Daniel, Matthew, Spencer and Sam.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 1995 and by her parents.
Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM until the 6:00 PM Memorial Service on Friday, October 9, 2009 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home. Pastor Joel Huenemann, of United Presbyterian Church, will officiate.
Inurnment will be in Nemadji Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ARF or to PAWS, both of Superior.
Connie's family would like to thank Dr. Sande, all the staff at Villa-Marina, Faith, and the staff of St. Mary's Hospice.
