Crystal Ann O'Sullivan

Crystal Ann O’Sullivan, 78, Superior resident, died Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center in Superior, WI. She was born on November 30, 1942 in Superior, WI to Leonard and June (Bingham) Thomas.

She attended Lincoln Elementary School and graduated from East High School in 1961. She went on and graduated from UW-Superior and started student teaching at Erickson Elementary and became an Elementary Librarian at Inver Grove Grade School in St. Paul, MN. She then worked at McCaskill Lab. School in Superior, and spent 16 years at the Superior Public Library.

Crystal married John O’Sullivan in the Hammond Avenue Presbyterian Church in Superior on August 9, 1969 and celebrated fifty-one years of marriage. Crystal was a very grateful member of Alcohol Anonymous for 38 years. She had several hobbies, where she worked side by side with her husband, John, which included stained glass for 13 years, making sun catchers, lamps and windows, more than 28 years buying, collecting and selling antiques, with a special passion for red wing dishes and art ware and attending conventions for over 25 ½ years. She will be sadly missed by her husband, John.

Crystal is survived by her husband, John; brother-in-law, Bernard (Karen) O’Sullivan; sisters-in-law, Patricia O’Sullivan and Margaret Gee. She also had many special friends she has known since early grade school. She is preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to thank St. Luke’s Hospital, Superior Rehabilitation Center, Villa Marina and Hospice for the wonderful care they provided Crystal.

Visitation will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior and continue until the 11:00 AM funeral service with Pastor Victor St. George of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Superior, WI.
