Dale E Backlund

Dale E. Backlund, 83, Superior, died Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at St. Francis in the Park with family at his side.

He was born February 21, 1931 in Superior to Vernon and Astrid (Bergren) Backlund.

Dale graduated from Central High School. He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Greenland.

Dale ‘s employment was a baker at the Old Patio Shop, then became a policeman and then went on to be a fireman for the City of Superior.

Dale enjoyed spending time with his family, wood working, stamp collecting and baking his holiday bread and pies for his friends and family.

He is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Steve) Priolo, Susan (John) Santori; four grandchildren, Anna Santori, Thomas Santori, Stephanie Priolo and Steven Priolo; two sisters, Marla Ryan, Diane (Phil) Allison; one brother, Jimmy (Mary) Backlund and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara (Kenville) Backlund; four sisters, Nancy Lee, Carol Jarzomski, Sandy Greely, Patsy Thompson and three brothers, Marvin, Raymond and Vernon Backlund.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
