Dale L. Mccabe

Dale L. McCabe, 75, Cotton, MN resident, died Monday, May 5, 2014 at the Benedictine Health Center in Duluth. He was born on June 14, 1938 in Crookston, MN to John and Anna (Brandt) McCabe.

Dale graduated from high school and was a member of the National Guard.

He was a salesman for Case Equipment retiring in 1990 after twenty years of service.

Dale married Janice Roleff on August 6, 1965 in Arizona and they celebrated forty-eight years of marriage.

He was a former member of the Cotton Optimist Club where he also served as president. He also was a volunteer firefighter and first responder for the Ellsburg Township in MN.

He enjoyed being at the cabin. Dale was known for his sense of humor and he always had a joke to tell.

Dale is survived by his wife, Jan; three daughters, Kimberly (David) Perrault, Micco, FL, Laura (Pat Dillon) McCabe and Leslie McCabe, both of Duluth, MN; ten grandchildren, David (Erin), Jennifer (Steven), Ashley, Robbie, Courtney, Maggie, Marshall, Marilyn, Bryan and Matthew; seven great-grandchildren, Elle, Keira, Jameson, Aiden, Caleb, Max and Mikayla and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother, David.

The family would like to thank Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospice and Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital Oncology & Palliative Care Unit for their wonderful care and compassion they showed for Dale.

A memorial service will be held at a later date this summer.

The Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
