Dale R. "Doc" Wermter

June 6, 1950 — May 27, 2011

Dale R. “Doc” Wermter, 60, South Range, died Friday, May 27, 2011 in the Solvay Hospice House in Duluth. He was born on June 6, 1950 in Superior to Kurt and Lois (Pederson) Wermter.

He was employed as a boilermaker for various companies, since 1969, retiring in 2003 due to his illness.

Dale married Christie Stoeckel on July 9, 2003 but they had spent the past twenty-nine years together

Dale was a member of the Boilermakers Union; former member of the Hawthorne Trap Club; he was founder, lead vocalist and accordionist for the local band “Country Boys”.

He enjoyed duck hunting and fishing with his father and sons but he really enjoyed being with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife Christie, Dale is survived by two sons, Robert Wayne Wermter and Waylon Kurt Wermter, both of Hawthorne, WI; one brother, Gary D. Wermter, Hawthorne and a grandson, Joshua Wermter, Eau Claire, WI.
Dale was preceded in death by a son William Carl “Willie” Stoeckel; his parents and his first wife, Rosemary (Krawza) Wermter.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until the 12 Noon Funeral Service on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the Parkview Cemetery which will also include the inurnment of his son Willie.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Solvay Hospice House, c/o Miller Dwan Foundation.
