Daniel Earl Nephew

Daniel Earl “Dan” Nephew, 57, died of natural causes, Saturday, February 6, 2021 in his home. He was born in Duluth, MN, June 28, 1963, the son of George and Jean Nephew.

Dan was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved Harley’s and going fast. He was a skilled handyman, a Jack of all Trades, and a gifted artist. Dan will always be remembered for making people laugh and being the smartest of asses. He will be dearly missed by many.

He is survived by his sons, Dan (Kelsey) Nephew, and Jesse (Brittani) Nephew, all of Duluth, MN; their mother, Laurie Nephew, Duluth, MN; daughter, Alyssa Young, Duluth, MN; grandsons, Isaiha, Ryan, Tristin, Noah, Aidan, Levi, and Owen; siblings, Sue Korhonen, Dave (Stacy) Nephew, Beth (Mike) Friedman, and Tim Nephew; brother-in-law, Jim Rohweder; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; George Nephew, and Jean and Merwin Moder; sister, Jan Rohweder; and daughter-in-law, Jenna Suomi.

A visitation will begin at 5:00 PM, Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior, and will continue until the 6:00 PM Memorial Service. Pastor Tom Brinkley of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Esko, will officiate. A potluck will follow at Mr. D’s Bar & Grill, 5622 Grand Avenue, Duluth.
